Hi Parents,
I hope you all have a wonderful break with your family and get plenty of good food and relaxation. I am so proud of how hard your children have been working in school.
There are a few things that I want to be sure you know about so that you can get it on your calendars.
We are working on some top secret poems in class right now. Therefore, some of the students may have a poem or two to finish up on over the break so they are not behind when we get back. We will be having a poetry recitation as our December class party. It will be held on Dec 21st at 2:00p.m. Your child will have by then written some beautiful poems for you to hear, so please try to get time off of work to join us.
We have a gift book exchange that will be held on Dec 21st in the morning. The kids all bring a new book to put in the exchange. Then they pick a book, steal the books, and trade the books until everyone ends up with a new book. It is a lot of fun, so please in your outings over the next few weeks, think about picking up a 4th grade level book. You will also receive a reminder in your child's planner next week about this too.
I just submitted a new book order to Scholastic today for you to order from in time for the holidays. It is very easy to order on online, so take advantage of this great resource for books and other holiday gifts. I sent the order forms home with a letter today in your child's accordion folder. If you lose it, the class activation code is: GRJKQ Just go to www.scholastic.com/bookclubs to get started. The selection on the website is much more extensive than just the order forms your child brought home today. The due date for your orders is Dec. 2nd so that we can be sure to have everything before the holidays.
I wold like to thank all of our parents who helped with the Middle Ages Fair. It was a huge success, and a wonderful way to culminate our Middle Ages unit. Our parents do so much to help us each year. I feel very blessed to work with all of you and your children.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving,
Fondly,
Liz

Stafford's Scoop
Hi Parents,
Tomorrow is it! The Medieval Ages Fair is finally here. We will have so much fun launching the trebuche, watching jousting, sword fighting, juggling, and storytelling. Please make sure your child wears very warm clothing with layers in case it gets warm in the afternoon.
Thank you to all parents who are volunteering to help us make this a success.
Fondly,
Liz

Stafford's Scoop
Hi Parents,
Thank you all so much for helping us to have a wonderful Halloween party. I got some great pictures of everyone, as did many of our parents. If you were here and took pictures, I would love to have you email them to me. Who knows, they may end up in our yearbook!
The Top Banana contest was hilarious. The kids had so much fun and were creative in their thinking. The top prizes went to:
Ben Sunset: Funniest
Kevin Wong: Scariest
Laura Rauwerdink: Most Creative
David Jamski: Best Dressed
Paige Gutierrez: Class Favorite
As November begins, remember to send your kids with layers and mittens, hats etc. The weather changes hourly, so I want everyone to be comfortable on the playground.
Fondly,
Liz
